Tomoko Mizu was born in Tokyo in 1988 and obtained a Master of Domus Academy in Milan during the Industrial Design achieved with Arch. Anna Castelli Ferrieri.
In 1994 she founded her own studio in Milan. She currently lives and works in Crema.
Dealing with product design and image consulting business strategy.
Offering advice of product design and communication for the furniture industry and supply.
Its design process is based on a careful observation of human gestures and research materials. Apply a soothing form, both natural and poetic use, both for appearance.

Nel 1988 ottiene, presso la Domus Academy di Milano, il Master in Industrial Design conseguito con l’Arch. Anna Castelli Ferrieri.
Nel 1994 fonda a Milano il suo studio. Attualmente vive e lavora a Crema.
Si occupa di product design e consulenza strategica d’immagine aziendale, in particolare per la progettazione e la comunicazione di prodotto nei settori dell’arredamento e dell’alimentazione.
Il suo metodo di lavoro si basa su un‘attenta osservazione dei gesti umani e sulla ricerca accurata nell’uso dei materiali. I suoi progetti trasmettono rilassatezza, poesia, naturalità sia nell’uso del prodotti stessi che per il loro aspetto finale.
Da alcuni anni collabora frequentemente con artigiani italiani coinvolgendoli in progetti legati al mondo del design.
Ha partecipato alla Biennale dell’Artigianato Sardo 2009, insignita del “Premio Compasso d’Oro 2011”.
Nel 2010 i vasi disegnati per Cappellini sono entrati nella collezione permanente del Museo M.A.G.M.A. di Roccamonfina (CE).
I suoi lavori sono stati presentati in numerose mostre e pubblicati su riviste e siti web italiani e internazionali.

コースにおいて、アンナ・カステッリ・フェリエーリに師事、同年修了。
1994年よりフリーランスとして自身のスタジオを開設。現在、ミラノから約４０km南東に位置するクレーマを拠点として、活動している。
オブジェ、家具、照明などのデザインだけでなく、ブランディングのためのコンセプト提案や企業のデザイン・コムニケーション戦略の一環として、海外経験を生かし、日本企業のための見本市出展PRディレクションも手がけている。
「人間の仕草、行動」を観察分析するところから発し、マテリアルのリサーチを経て作られるそのフォルムは自然でゆったりとした詩情を感じさせる。
近年は職人とのコラボレーションを多く手がけ、ムラーノ島のガラス職人とのコラボレーションはパリの見本市でも高い評判を得る。
２００９年、サルデーニア州主催「職人ビエンナーレ」に数点のコラボレーションで参加、この展覧会は２０１１年に「コンパッソ・ドーロ」を受賞する。
２０１０年、カッペリーニ社のためにデザインしたアクリル製フラワーベースがラッカモンフィーナ市立美術館M.A.G.M.A.のパーマネントコレクションとなる。

作品は多数のインテリア、デザイン誌、ウェッブにも紹介されている。
